Hostile Takeover

Good Evening Ladies and Gentlemen,

After a recent election I have acquired the executive powers over the website. Meaning two things; this is now the domain of the Webmaster, and I will be enforcing vast, wild and radical changes.

Once we are again in the full swing of things, your Secretary (Gen) will be providing regular updates of the club . These will be accessible through the side bars provided.

We will also be cataloging the very best speeches, not only as a way to preserve our clubs’ history but to allow new and current members a source to benchmark their own writing abilities against. This will also function as a guide to help you complete your CC manual and compliment the educationals, mentoring program and other resources on offer.

If you have any questions do not hesitate to message us at the Varsity organisation facebook page or drop us a comment on the group.

Kind Regards,
Webmaster

The Beginning and The End

Last week, we had a meeting which drew the beginning of Georgia’s speech history at Varsity and the end of Vicky’s novice speech giving.

Georgia gave a great speech of herself (tradition of any Icebreaker) and Vicky gave a meaningful and moving speech about her struggle with Geiteskrankheit.

The end marks a new beginning, so Varsity would like to congratulate:

VICKY LING

for completing her CC manual and earning the title of Competent Communicator.

As some of you may know, Kaala (our VP-Ed) has fled our country and will not be back till July, thus a survival of the fittest election took place to determine who will take her place as the temporary VP-Ed. Swords were drawn and blood was shed, and from it came the victor.

Varsity would like to congratulate the new temp. VP-Ed:

NETHMIE GALLA

A lot of congratulations for one night. So if you have missed the night, then please congratulate the two on their achievements as well as cry over the fact that you have missed out on Swiss chocolate and Polish fudge.

The day we went to Top Gunn

For all of you who didn’t know, our lovely president and toastmaster of the year: Karl, went to the Division H – International Speech Contest at the Fickling Convention Centre on Saturday.

He battled through the minutes with the stories of school and university and came out filled with blood, sweat and tears. Okay, not tears because he’s the president. The president does not shed a tear.

Karl battled like Maverick and had the sweetest moves but the judges did not agree with his daredevil ways
-Natalia

Varsity would like to congratulate and acknowledge Karl for getting this far! And also for Natalia, Sonny and Vicky for going and supporting him.

TOTYS Success

We would like to congratulate everyone who won an award at TOTYS last Wednesday. It was an awesome and relaxed meeting filled with awards, mini and normal speeches, followed up with lots of alone time with other members.

Area Contest – Winner

Congratulations are in order for our current president Karl Waters, who has managed to trudge his way through the Area Contest taking home the gold.

For those of you who have no idea what it is, it is a head to head with the finest speakers in our zone, which ended in only the very best being pitted against each other.

So not only has Karl killed people at our club with words to get there, he also managed to slaughter the other speakers at the Area Contest without a sweat or stutter. Finally, coming out supreme as the most ultimate speaker of all time (in our zone).

On behalf of the members at Varsity:

CONGRATULATIONS PRESIDENT KARL

Und im Namen von der deutschen österreichischen sprachigen Menschen:

HERZLICHEN GLÜCKWÜNSCH PRÄSIDENT KARL
